The app’s Friends page is the same friends and parties you have on the website and inside the games that support them — there is one friend list and one party per account, and all three show it.
Your friends
Friends are sorted by what they are doing: in a game, online, away, then offline. For a friend in a game the row names the game and, where they are on a listed server, the server:
- Join appears when their game has said they can be joined — it opens their server’s page, and Play there launches you onto it;
- Server appears when they are on a server but have not said they are joinable — it opens the server’s page instead.
Remove friend is on each row.
Offline is sometimes a privacy setting
A friend whose privacy settings hide their activity reads as offline to everybody, friends included, and a friend who is only on the website shows as online or away rather than in a game. Presence a game reports also expires on its own a short while after the game stops sending it, so a crash shows as offline rather than as “in game” forever.
Requests
- Add friend is on every member’s page in the app.
- Requests lists what you have been sent — Accept or Decline.
- Sent lists what you have asked — Withdraw takes a request back.
The rules are the website’s: asking somebody who has already asked you accepts them; after a decline only the person declined waits before asking again; and a member can turn friend requests off entirely.
Party invites and your party
Party invites lists invitations to a party with Join and Decline. Accepting still goes through the party’s own rules, so a party that has filled since you were invited turns you away and the invite stays usable.
Your party shows the party you are in, if any, with its roster and Leave. Being in a party from the app is the same as being in it from the website or from a game — see Joining and visibility and Lifecycle.
